National Recycling Day 2025 at Goodwill Tenneva is scheduled for Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The event is designed for high school and college students in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia who are age 16 plus to earn one to eight hours of community service while experiencing recycling and sustainability programs that support Goodwill’s Core Value #11: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse & Repurpose.
Registration for a limited number of available volunteer slots at each location is required by Friday, November 7th, at 7:00 p.m. Goodwill Tenneva retail locations in Bristol, Elizabethton, Greeneville, Johnson City, and Kingsport, Tennessee; and in Abingdon, Bristol, Chilhowie, Richlands, and Wise, Virginia, are participating.
Student volunteers must register at https://www.goodwilltnva.org/national-recycling-day/ and select one of the 10 Goodwill Tenneva locations at which to serve. Requested service hours must be achievable during the event time of 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Verified service hours will be prorated to match volunteer arrival and departure times.
