Every year YWCA celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a ceremony to reflect on Dr. King's accomplishments, how far we've come as a nation regarding racism, and how far we've yet to go. We need volunteers to help plan, set up, greet guests, and clean up afterward. If you are interested in volunteering for a great cause please reach out.

YWCA NETN and SWVA operates the Bristol Bridal Station as a Social Enterprise in support of the YWCA mission. The salon features new, couture wedding and special occasion gowns and accessories priced at a fraction of regular retail. The Volunteer Bridal Consultant will provide excellent customer service and support to clients. Ideal Volunteer Bridal Consultant characteristics:Available for 2.5 hour shifts on Saturdays, once or twice per month.Available to facilitate occasional weekday evening private appointment.Available to assist in processing new inventory occasionally.Well groomed, professional presentation. Consultant dress code is black pants/skirt/dress and black top.Good physical condition, able to lift up to 20lbs overhead.Energetic and outgoing.Work well with a wide variety of personality types.Sincerely enjoy helping others and enthusiastic about special events.Sensitively listen to customer needs.Respectful of personal boundaries and varying levels of modesty.Ability to remain neutral and professional when engaging with families.Attentive to Bridal Station policies and procedures.Willingness to learn bridal/formalwear terminology.Willingness to communicate about YWCA mission and programs.Ability to multi-task, assist multiple customers at one time.Trustworthy and patient.
