Volunteer: Volunteer Opportunity: Resident Companionship Visits

The Village at Allandale in Kingsport is seeking compassionate volunteers who are interested in spending time with our residents across our three communities (independent living, assisted living, and memory care).

We are looking for individuals who would be willing to visit occasionally to offer simple companionship—conversation, sharing stories, or just being a friendly presence. Many of our residents greatly benefit from social interaction, and even short visits can make a meaningful difference in their day.

We are especially interested in connecting with individuals who enjoy building relationships with older adults and creating moments of connection and joy.

Volunteer visits are flexible and can be scheduled based on your availability. Whether you can visit once a week, once a month, or occasionally, your time is truly valued and appreciated.

If you are interested in making a positive impact in the lives of our residents, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteer: Miracle League

The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children and adults with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. Since the main barriers for the participants arise from the natural grass fields used in conventional leagues, Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries. But it’s more than playing a game. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other athletes. To help the athletes, the Miracle League uses a “buddy” system – pairing each player with an able-bodied peer. The result is a bond that cannot be described. The Miracle League serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disabilities, which causes them to be excluded, whether intentionally or not, from conventional Baseball leagues.

Scheduling: Games will begin the week of April 11th - May 16th, We will be hosting a baseball opening day for all of your participants on April 18th at Domtar Park.   Games will be scheduled every Saturday at 10am ages 17 and under and 11am ages 18 and above

*CareerQuest students interested in physical therapy and special needs would have a blast at this.
