Needs From: Volunteer United

Carter County currently has a need for hardwood floor installation. Installing hardwood flooring is an intricate process that needs a high level of expertise. We have Carter County Hurricane Helene survivors that due to a recent health debilitation issue, cannot install the flooring themselves. They have all the materials, they just need volunteers with skilled hands and hearts for service.

Help in sorting and hanging clothes, restocking shelves, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping

We need a volunteer who would love to contribute to Cocke County's rebuilding efforts through creating, editing, publishing and promoting projects, progress updates, events, announcements and other news via our website, Facebook page and other social media. This volunteer position can be remote or onsite using pictures and video taken in Cocke County, TN and will work closely with the Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator of the Cocke County Long-Term Recovery Group.  

We have several locations where damage from Hurricane Helene flooding deposited trash and other small debris in the yards of private homeowners and destroyed flora. We need volunteers who would love to contribute to Cocke County's rebuilding efforts through landscaping service.

This would include the following:

Collecting micro trash into bags for disposal.

Mowing lawns

Weed eating

Planting flowers or working in the garden

Trimming Bushes and Trees

Rebuilding or reshaping garden beds

Raking

Moving landscaping supplies around a property 

Assist with general labor to rebuild a home in Chuckey, TN. The family was displaced due to Hurricane Helene. 

Tasks may include lying subfloor, installing flooring, installing insulation or other general labor tasks. 

For those who want to support our disaster recovery efforts but are not interested in construction opportunities, we can use volunteer support in the ASP office! Tasks may include responding to inquiries, answering phones, stuffing mailings, data entry, various other administrative tasks, or organizing warehouse tools and supplies. Please let us know of your interest, and we will reach out as opportunities arise.
