Greetings Friends, Neighbors, Sponsors and Volunteers -
Our 15TH Annual "Spring" - Day of Service" at Darrell's Dream Boundless Playground at Warriors' Path State Park is just around the corner. Please mark your calendars now for Sat. April 23rd. (RAIN DATE: Sat. April 30th). We've only had to cancel twice for rain.
Cross your fingers for no rain. PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS FACEBOOK PAGE for Rain Cancellation. https://www.facebook.com/kingsportdayofservice
Kick-off will begin at 8:30am with official welcome and breakfast (Thank you Hardee's & Walmart) and conclude with lunch. (Thanks again, McDonald's, Food City & Wal-mart). Also, special thank to MyCroft Signs for help in promoting Day of Service.
Once again, we're hoping to bring close to 200 volunteers together to help with repairs, cleaning and just general maintenance of every aspect at Darrell's Dream Boundless Playground. It's the most amazing day seeing how much we get done after nearly 1,000 hours of work.
Thank you so much to each of your for your past support of Darrell's Dream Boundless Playground. As many of you know this is a "One-of-a-kind" SPECIAL PLACE where ALL CHILDREN and ALL ADULTS of ALL ABILITIES can come together to play. Absolutely no one has to sit on the sidelines. I'm sure you've heard the saying - "It takes a village to raise up a child" - well it's taken all of you and so many more across Kingsport and the Tri-Cities Region to make Darrell's Dream a reality and to maintain it now for 16years.
As I look back over the last two years, I am so HUMBLED that we were able to continue with our Spring and Fall Day of Caring throughout COVID. Thankfully, Darrell’s Dream was a place where families and children of ALL ABILITIES could retreat to and find some enjoyment.
So many of our volunteers have been volunteering for each of those past 15 years. GOD BLESS EACH of YOU!
SPECIAL THANKS AGAIN to our many sponsors McDonalds (Faris Properties LLC), Hardee's Kingsport (Capstone Restaurants), Food City, Super Walmart, Food City, Mycroft Signs. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club, NE TN Master Gardener's, Cherokee ROTC, Kingsport Jaycees, P.E.A.K., Celebration Church, DB and West Ridge High School Key Clubs, Palmer Center Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, TN Achieves / TN Promise Students - NE State, Milligan College, Celebration Church, and last but not least Warriors' Path State Park Staff.
