Description

Citizen Review Volunteers Needed!

Citizens Review process allows volunteers to experience firsthand the direct impact of donor dollars on the community. They then use this knowledge to assist in allocation decisions about programs.  We need in need of 30 more volunteers to accomplish this process. All it takes to be a volunteer is to attend 1-2 hours of training with yours truly and spend 1-2 days visiting agencies. In addition to those dates, volunteers are asked to spend a few hours reviewing their assigned Agency applications.  We have moved to an online system which makes it easy and convenient to review Agency application and other documents in the comfort of your home or office!

What do citizen review volunteers do?

  • Review grant application instruments
  • Conduct agency site visits
  • Make funding recommendations for each program

How much time does it take?

  • Attend two-hour training (one-hour refresher for past volunteers) in February
  • Two-four hours to review online application materials in February
  • One day to conduct the agency site visit and deliberations in March

What qualifications do I need to do this job?

  • Passion for our community
  • Interested in learning more about UWGK and its member agency programs
  • Willing to give their time to benefit agencies, donors and recipients of service
