Volunteers complete a myriad of daily tasks, including checking clients in, attending to their needs, answering phones, filling PERKS orders, and other duties. Volunteers go through an application process and must submit to a background check for the safety of our staff, volunteers, clients, and especially children on campus. Volunteers at The Oasis of Kingsport play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming environment where women can find hope, encouragement, and support as they work toward stability and healing. Our volunteers serve in a variety of ways, depending on their gifts, interests, and availability. Some of the things volunteers may do include: Hospitality & Front Desk Support: Greeting guests, helping them sign in, offering coffee or refreshments, and creating a warm, respectful atmosphere. Encouragement & Listening: Offering compassionate conversation and emotional support to women who may be struggling or rebuilding their lives. Resource Assistance: Helping clients connect with community resources, complete applications, or access clothing, hygiene items, or other essentials. Programs & Activities: Assisting with classes, workshops, Bible studies, or support groups that promote personal growth and wellness. Special Events & Projects: Supporting fundraising events, community outreach, or seasonal drives. Maintenance & Organization: Helping keep the center clean, organized, and inviting for all who come through our doors. All volunteers receive orientation and guidance to ensure they understand the mission of Oasis and how to serve in a trauma-informed, respectful, and compassionate way. At The Oasis of Kingsport, we believe every volunteer helps restore dignity and hope to the women we serve. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear, your time and presence truly make a difference.
