We are looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to help us prepare and serve meals.  You time will make a direct impact on our community members in need.  No experience necessary - just a willingness to help!

You have what it takes to be a VITA volunteer in Kingsport or Blountville!

The Kingsport VITA program is operating two sites this year.  Our first site is in the V.O. Dobbins Community Center located at 285 Louis Street in Kingsport.  We operate this site as a drop-off site.  We do intake by appointment on Mondays from 4:00PM to 7PM.  On Tuesdays from 9:00AM to around 3:00PM we prepare the income tax returns from the batch of drop-offs on Monday (we provide lunch on-site for the tax preparers).  Then on Thursday evening from 4:00PM to 7PM we review the completed tax returns with the clients.  At this site the greatest need is tax preparers, although if your people could help with the intake interviews, this could allow our tax preparers to work on tax returns during the intake sessions.

The second site is in the Sullivan County Public Library - Blountville Branch (1655 Blountville Boulevard in Blountville, TN).  This is also a drop-off site format.  This location offers flexible options for volunteers to help perform tax returns.  

Also, if doing taxes is not your "thing", we have a need for intake specialists at both locations. This includes signing people in, making copies of key information, and providing general directions. (No tax knowledge necessary).

Bristol Regional Speech and Hearing Center operates Bingo on Saturday and Sunday each weekend.  It provides income to off-set the expenses of running a not -for-profit speech and hearing center.  

We need volunteers to assist with running this event.  The location is 238 Euclid Avenue, Bristol, VA  24201.  Doors open at 3:00 p.m. and sessions begin at 5:00p.m.  Volunteers should plan on arriving around 3:00 and will be free to leave around 8:00.  It is an exciting and fun place to volunteer!

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. 

Please note: This is NOT located at the Speech and Hearing Center.  It is near the intersection of Lee Highway and Euclid.

Help keep the residents of Greene County warm during the winter months. Volunteers haul, cut, and split wood between Monday through Saturday at the corner of North Rufe Taylor Rd and Old Stage Rd and deliver on Saturdays and throughout the week.

New and/or replace plumbing in New Home or Remodel of storm damaged home for survivor families.

Final cleaning of new/remodeled home for flood survivors.
