Who We Are

The Carter Compassion Center (CCC) is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2021 focused on helping clients become self-sufficient and break the chain of poverty in Carter County, Tennessee. We fulfill a liaison role between clients, mentors and a large network of community resources to address the diverse needs of our clients.

What We Do

Our clients may be homeless, poverty-stricken, food insecure, unemployed or facing a life crisis. We respond to their needs on a case-by-case basis collaborating with other local nonprofits and civic agencies to resolve the immediate crisis such as overdue utility bills and deposits or impending homelessness. Our intent is to then pair them with a mentor to develop a financial stability work plan and set goals for themselves. In addition to resolving emerging crises, we are focused on developing a multi-step program starting with a Financial Freedom Program. This initiative is designed to empower individuals and families by providing essential financial education and resources in order to successfully manage their income, expenses and goals while avoiding predatory loan practices.
