The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of all animals. We do not receive public or government funding, no monies from national humane organizations (such as the Humane Society of the United States) or county, state or federal government funds. Our work depends solely on grants, fundraisers, adoptions, private funding, memberships and donations.
What We Do
We work tirelessly to help raise awareness for homeless and at-risk animals in our care and across the region. We have an in-take program, and work to provide top-notch care and find them their forever homes. Our organization handles tasks such as animal care, enrichment, events and community awareness.
