Who We Are

Family Promise of Greater Kingsport is an affiliate of Family Promise National. Established in 2000, Family Promise works in conjunction with local congregations to assist homeless families with minor children by providing food, temporary shelter, case management services, and access to resources to enable families to achieve sustainability.

What We Do

Family Promise of Greater Kingsport offers shelter to homeless families with minor children, providing a safe and supportive environment. In addition, they provide comprehensive services such as case management, counseling, and access to resources aimed at addressing the underlying issues contributing to homelessness and helping families achieve stability. Furthermore, the organization assists families in transitioning from emergency shelter to more permanent housing solutions. Through grants, Family Promise of Greater Kingsport also supports renters in the area by covering security deposits and the initial months of rent, or by aiding renters who are behind on payments to catch up if they fall under a certain income range. Additionally, they offer assistance with defaulted utility bills and facilitate access to educational programs, further empowering families to overcome challenges and build a better future.
