

Who We Are
The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Sullivan County is a non-profit organization that was built by our community to serve the child victims of maltreatment. Our community recognized the need to enchance the system’s ability to respond to allegations of abuse. At the same time, making sure young victims received the help they need to reduce the effect of trauma created by abuse. In 1991 the Children’s Advocacy Center of Sullivan County was the first center of its type to open in Tennessee.
What We Do
The Child Protection Investigative Team (CPIT) is headquartered at the CAC. The CAC facilitates the multi-disciplinary approach to intervention, investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse. CPIT is make up of professionals representing child protective services, law enforcement, prosecutors, meatal health professionals and juvenile court. The result is a combination of wisdom and knowledge coming together to review all cases of child sexual and severe physical abuse to develop effective, coordinated strategies sensitive to the needs of each case and child.
