We are excited to partner with our friends with PEAK - Kingsport Young Professionals to assist with the Day of Service dedicated to Darrell's Dream "Boundless" Playground. This is a special playground built by the community, and a place where all children of all abilities can play and learn.
Volunteers are needed from 8:30 AM - 1 PM, but are not required to work an entire shift. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for the volunteers.
Projects volunteers are needed for include:
- Gathering leaves and debris from playground and creek
- Weeding and mulching playground and interpretive plantings (herb garden, rain gardens and wildflower walk, parking lots, rec. building planters, etc.)
- Sand Island equipment cleaned, sand raked and replenished
- Rubber Mulch cleaned out in all “fall” play zones, leveled to avoid drop-offs, and replenished
- Braille playground perimeter walkway lined with pea gravel
- Washing down all playground equipment and interactive structures in Alpha Playground, Gamma Playground, Sand Island and “a-MAZE-ing area” including restrooms, entrance pavilion and picnic pavilion
- All signage, benches, trash cans pressure washed and cleaned
- All signage and playground equipment paint touched-up, repaired as needed

Here are a few helpful hints from the event organizers:
- Dress in layers, as it may be cool in the morning.
- Wear old clothing.
- Wear work gloves to protect hands.
- If you have a standard rake, heavy duty rake, and/or wheelbarrow that you can bring, please do. Please write your name on a piece of tape on any equipment that you bring.
