One of the most impactful ways to get involved is by becoming an Evaluations and Allocations (E&A) Volunteer with United Way of Bristol.
E&A volunteers are a vital part of the process that helps determine how United Way funds are invested in local programs that support individuals and families in need. Your voice, perspective, and commitment help ensure that the dollars raised in our community are directed to programs making the greatest impact.

What’s the Commitment?
We know your time is valuable, so the process is designed to be meaningful but manageable:

One-hour training session during the third week of April (date TBD)

Review agency materials at your convenience

Visit four assigned agencies with your team (approximately 1.5 hours per visit) between May 4–15
(Visits are scheduled based on team availability and may extend into the following week if needed.)
How the Process Works
Volunteers are placed into teams of 5–7 members, including a team captain. Each team is assigned approximately four local agencies to review.
Before visiting the agencies, volunteers receive all materials electronically, along with guidance on what to look for and questions to consider. Teams then meet with agency representatives to learn more about their programs, review outcomes, and discuss how funding supports their work.
After completing the visits, each team evaluates what they learned and develops a funding recommendation. Team captains present these recommendations, which are then reviewed collectively and submitted to the United Way of Bristol Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
