Description

How many people are currently homeless in the United States? How many of them are families, youth, or veterans? The answers to these questions and more can be answered by point-in-time counts. A point-in-time count is an unduplicated count on a single night of the people in a community who are experiencing homelessness that includes both sheltered and unsheltered populations. Point-in-time counts are important because they establish the dimensions of the problem of homelessness and help policymakers and program administrators track progress toward the goal of ending homelessness.

The Point in Time Count will be conducted from January 22nd-23rd

Volunteers are especially needed for PIT Teams from 10am-5pm on January 23rd to survey specific locations in the Greater Kingsport area.

Shades of Grace: 10am-11am

Kingsport Salvation Army: 12pm-1pm

Kingsport Library 1pm-3pm

Kitchen of Hope: 3:30pm-4:30pm

Volunteers must attend training on Tuesday, January 21 from 12pm-1:30pm in the UWGK Conference Room (301 Louis Street, South Entrance, second floor)
