FALL VOLUNTEER DAY OF CARING / DAY OF SERVICE w/Friends of Warriors' Path State Park
Friends of Warriors’ Path State Park is again joining hands with different organizations and individuals to host Clean-up, Spruce-Up, Volunteer Work Day at Darrell’s Dream “Boundless” Playground (located at Warriors’ Path State Park).
(This is a special playground built by the community… a place where all children of ALL ABILITIES can Play and Learn)
Lunch provided for volunteers - Chef’s Pizzeria, MyCroft Signs, Walmart and many other sponsors for their support Just some of the projects we will attempt to do:
- 1) Gathering leaves and debris from playground and creek
- 2) Weeding and mulching playground, interpretive plantings – (herb garden, rain gardens and wildflower walk, parking lots, rec. building planters, etc.)
- 3) Sand Island equipment cleaned, sand raked / fluffed and replenished
- 4) Rubber Mulch cleaned out in all “fall” play zones, leveled to avoid drop-offs for special needs and replenished.
- 5) Braille Trail and Treehouse Nature Walk interactive exhibits washed down to remove dirt and built up lime
- 6) Braille playground perimeter walkway lined with pea gravel along edges to avoid drops-offs
- 7) Washing down all playground equipment and interactive structures in Alpha Playground, Gamma Playground,
- 8) Sand Island and “a-MAZE-ing area” including restrooms, entrance pavilion and picnic pavilion.
- 9) All signage, benches, trash cans pressure washed and cleaned
- 10) All signage and playground equipment paint touched-up, repaired as needed.

Remember to do!
- WEAR WORK GLOVES to protect hands and as an added safety measure
- Wear old clothes’ dress in Layers, just in case cool in the morning
- If have standard rake or heavy-duty rake and/or wheel barrel you can bring – please do! Put name on tape on rake.
